The Rural Base
It is remarkable how many secret super villain bases can be found across the United States, facilities used by criminal masterminds and mysterious organizations. Be it abandoned warehouses or playing card factories or the like, the country was studded with them. The “science villain” known as Professor Inverse had such a base constructed twenty miles North of Detroit in an abandoned salt mine that had become mostly played out and then grew partly flooded. He had purchased the property cheap since the mining company had gone bankrupt, and the Professor constructed a mansion over it, and beneath it he created his true home, a steel and concrete warren. Professor Inverse was taken down by the Science Squad, his mansion burned to the ground.
The secret of Professor Inverse’ base was largely forgotten, but Maggie Auger had come across it in the old Science Squad files in their Vancouver base. She purchased the property cheap and then had a new home constructed over it. Beneath the mansion is Inverse’s old base, largely untouched.
While the six bedroom estate above is very well appointed, the base below is clammy and still requires a great deal of work. The estate is remote and is ideal for super heroes to cut loose in training.
